Among the 59 components quantified in Kiyomi oil, 25 terpene hydrocarbons and 32 oxygenated compounds were identified, with peak weight percentages were 97.1% and 2.4%, respectively.
Limonene was the most prominent compound (92.0%), followed by myrcene (2.4%), sabinene (0.9%), octanal (0.6%), α-pinene (0.5%), β-phellandrene (0.5%) and neryl acetate (0.5%).
A peculiarity of the volatile profile of Kiyomi oil was the content ratio of alcohols (0.3%) to aldehydes (1.5%), which resulted from the relative abundance of octanal and decanal.
Octanal and neryl acetate, major oxygenated components in Kiyomi oil, were determined to be the momentous flavor components characterizing the volatile composition of Kiyomi oil because of their high proportions.
