Volatile constituents of Haplophyllum lissonotum and H. buxbaumii have been investigated by GC and GC/MS. Fifty compounds of H. lissonotum and forty-three of H. buxbaumii representing 88.5% and 89.2% of the oils respectively were identified.
Caryophyllene oxide (26.9%), β-caryophyllene (12.2%), humulene epoxide II (8.3%), α-humulene (7.2%) and caryophylla-4(14),8(15)-dien-5b-ol (7.1%) were the major compounds of H. lissonotum and hexadecanoic acid (18.5%), ethyl linolenate (14.0%), phytol (9.9%) and caryophyllene oxide (5.5%) were major compounds of H. buxbaumii oil. |
