J., Auteur ; Bandyopadhyay, B., Auteur Année de publication : 2009 Article en page(s) : pp. 28 - 35 Note générale : elecronics Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : frequency control; variable structure systems Résumé : In this paper, a method is presented for frequency-shaped sliding mode control using output feedback. A compensator is introduced in the sliding surface to attenuate the certain frequency component of the sliding mode dynamics. The output is measured at a faster rate than the control input to estimate the states of the system. The proposed output feedback frequency-shaped sliding mode controller is designed for the vibration suppression of intelligent structure. The simulation and experimental results show the efficacy of the method. Technologie nucléaire. Ingénierie électrique. Machinerie Résumé : A nonlinear sliding surface is proposed to improve the transient response for general discrete multiple-input-multiple-output linear systems with matched perturbations. The tracking case is analyzed, and it is shown that the scheme is able to achieve low overshoot and low settling time simultaneously; this is not possible with a linear sliding surface. The control law is based on the discrete-time sliding mode equivalent control and thus eliminates chattering. The control law is proposed based on two approaches: (1) reaching-law-based approach which needs only disturbance bounds and (2) disturbance-observer-based approach. Multirate output feedback is used to relax the need of the entire state vector for the implementation of the control law. A magnetic tape position control application is used to show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme. Titre : In search of contextual variables in a stochastic DEA framework : effect of regulation on efficiency of Indian cement industry Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Bandyopadhyay, B., Auteur Année de publication : 2011 Article en page(s) : pp. 1621–1637 Note générale : Recherche opérationnelle Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Non-parametric methods Efficiency Regulation Index. décimale : 001.424 Résumé : The paper assesses the difference in the nature of relationship between efficiency and its determinants of Indian cement producing firms in the presence and absence of environmental regulation. It provides an intuitive construct to identify the determinants of efficiency, which is followed by an empirical verification using a two-stage stochastic data envelopment analysis. Important quantitative determinants of efficiency include factor intensities of outputs, levels of pollution abatements, gross value added, whereas size, age, ownership type, development indicators of the place of location of a firm are among the qualitative determinants. An initial phase and a matured phase of regulation are considered in the paper. The main results suggest that capital intensity of output plays a positive role in increasing efficiency under regulation in the initial phase, material intensity in both phases and labour intensity, a negative role, in the subsequent phase. Higher levels of pollution abatements cause higher efficiency under regulation, while in the initial phase private firms report higher efficiencies under regulation; it is just the reverse in the subsequent phase. Size, age and development indicator of the state in which a firm is located can play a positive role to achieve higher efficiencies in the matured phase of regulation. Technologie nucléaire. Ingénierie électrique. Machinerie Résumé : This paper presents a method for achieving quasi-sliding mode for uncertain systems using a fast output sampling control strategy that avoids switching of control and, hence, avoids chattering. This method does not need the system states for feedback as it makes use of only the output samples for designing the controller. Thus, this methodology is more practical and easy to implement. The design technique is illustrated through two numerical examples.
- 1677-1682 p.

First, the duality between the coefficients of the discrete-time reduced-order observer and the sliding-surface design is established, and then, the design method for the observer using the Riccati equation is explained. A discrete-time sliding-mode controller based on the proposed observer is designed and tested on a laboratory-type experimental servo system. The results show the efficacy of the reduced-order observer designed by the duality concept.
