Infrastructures. Ouvrages en terres. Fondations. Tunnels. Ponts et charpentes Résumé : Textile reinforced concretes use multifilament yarns as reinforcement. Their mechanical properties are mainly governed by the impregnation of the yarns by the cementitious matrix. Two experimental methods that allow the level of impregnation of the yarn to be quantified are presented. These methods were tested on five different glass yarns, for three preparation methods that induce different level of impregnation. The results are discussed and compared to qualitative characterisation obtained from scanning electronic microscopy, which allows us to link them with the impregnation. Ponts et charpentes Résumé : Some preliminary studies, dealing with the process optimisation of pre-cast building elements made of Lime and Hemp Concrete (LHC), have shown that compression during casting lead to significant improvements: better mechanical characteristics and facing. However, this compaction leads to an increase of the weight to volume ratio and to a decrease in porous volume. Thus, the amount of entrapped air inside material, which contributes to decrease the thermal conductivity, is lower. Our data actually show a slight increase in thermal conductivity when compactness increases. The goal of this study is to compare the effect of compaction during casting on both mechanical and thermal characteristics of hardened specimens in order to evaluate the relevance of such a process. Material temperature versus time and main space direction (1D description along the thickness) is presented and analysed. The temperature distribution in the cold convection zone is analysed too. The mass loss under temperature increase is then presented and the radiative thermal flux too. Such research work gives some particular data to improve the accuracy of a combined thermal-chemical numerical model used with large latent heat mineral material. Plaster boards are usually used for passive fire protection. The kinetic chemical conversion is also estimated and an evaluation of the thermal exchange coefficients on the cold face is proposed. This article examines the effect of gypsum content on the dimensional stability of sulfoaluminate mortars. Mechanical properties as chemical evolution are studied. Our results show that the mortar with the greatest gypsum content expands without a decrease of its mechanical properties when it is cured in water. Two hypotheses about the mortars hydration are discussed to explain the differents macroscopic behaviours of the two mortars. Actually, their typical contractive behaviour can lead, under a deviatoric loading and constant volume condition, to a pore pressure build up which may cause an important or total loss of the shear resistance. BRO model, which is able to model this phenomenon, differs from the other soil models devoted to seismic computation by a simple identification procedure for the model parameters. It makes it convenient for the use of engineers. BRO model used to present a lack of robustness, it has been improved and then tested on San Fernando dam during the same-named seismic event in 1971. Infrastructures. Ouvrages en terres. Fondations. Tunnels. Ponts et charpentes Résumé : The vulnerability assessment of structures is a key element for earthquake prevention and mitigation strategies. In this study, we focus at one structure's type, namely a quasi symmetrical reinforced concrete structure with structural walls. The structure is discretized into a set of macro-elements, each macro-element being representative of a structure's floor. The estimated performance level achieved during a seismic action is obtained from capacity curves (based on static pushover analysis). The performance analysis of the structure is a probabilistic analysis since both the response spectrum (action) and the materials properties (resistance) are random. A parametric study was conducted to determine the vulnerability cumulative distribution functions and to identify the parameters that control them. Infrastructures. Ouvrages en terres. Fondations. Tunnels. Ponts et charpentes Résumé : A prudent management of networks, along with the minimisation of pollution discharged into receiving waters, requires an accurate knowledge of flow rates and pollutant loads conveyed in sewers. Conventional methods are based on well-known techniques, including acoustic devices and the sampling and analysis of total suspended solids. Although such methods yield satisfactory results for a typical gauging campaign, sensor implementation proves to be rather difficult. This study is intended to test the capabilities of acoustic Doppler profilers (ADP); the paper will present a PC-ADP profiler and the set of accompanying experiments. Initial results demonstrate great improvement offered by profiling techniques, in terms of both simultaneity and time savings. The ecological impact of materials, for manufacturing, use and destruction, is more and more taken into account. We find in this way the brick of raw clay, the brick of straw clay or of wooden shavings to build walls of detached houses. The conception is also reanalyzed to favour thermal inertia, phase displacement and energy storage in the structure. The difficulty remains the sensibility of this type of material opposite humidity, even if their role of hydrous regulator can be also noted. Ponts et charpentes Résumé : Both in France and at the global level, hydraulic works have remained excluded from semi-probabilistic regulations. As far as embankment hydraulic works are more specifically concerned, there are no formal rules for their design. In this context, the French Commitee on Large Dams initiated a research project to define a semi-probabilistic limitstate method for the design of embankment hydraulic works. This paper accounts for the work done over two years. It determines the position of embankment hydraulic works in relation to Eurocode 7. It briefly outlines the suggested semi-probabilistic limit-state method and focuses on the sliding limit-state. Applying the method to a pseudo-homogenous dam helps comparing the standard deterministic practice, the Eurocode 7-based approach and the developed semiprobabilistic method.
