| Résumé : | Bioprocesses have been typically optimized according to their economic performances. In this work we present a novel framework for their optimal design that allows for the simultaneous consideration of economic and environmental concerns. Our approach relies on the combined use ofsimulation packages, multiobjective optimization (MOO), life cycle assessment (LCA), and principal component analysis (PCA). The capabilities of the proposed methodology are illustrated through its application to the production of the amino acid L-lysine. |
