Savi ssp. nepeta var. subisodonda (Borb.) Hayek obtained by hydrodistillation was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Eleven constituents were identified (96.5%). The main constituents in the oil were pulegone (75.5%), piperitenone oxide (6.0%), menthone (5.3%) and menthol (4.3%). The microbial activity of the oil was screened against Aspergillus niger, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Salmonella enteritidis, Bacillus subtilis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It was found that all mentioned microorganisms were sensitive to the oil. Two hundred and thirty two constituents identified accounted for 93.4% of the total oil.
The major components of the oil were: neophytadiene isomer III (10.1%), carvacrol (7.9%), p-camphorene (5.6%), hexadecanoic acid (4.9%) and thymol (4.2%).
The terpenoid fraction represented more then one half of the oil (14.4% monoterpenoids, 18.7% sesquiterpenoids and 22.4% diterpenoids), while the fatty acids and fatty acid derived compounds made up a third, and the carotenoid derived compounds only ca. 5% of the oil.
Erythrocentaurin, 5-formyl-2,3- dihydroisocoumarin, although a minor contributor (0.1%) of the oil, was identified for the first time in an oil sample.DEWEY : 665 ISSN : 1041-2905 En ligne : http://www.jeoronline.com/archive/detail/42#top [article] Chemical composition of the essential oil of centaurium erythraea rafn (Gentianaceae) from Serbia [texte imprimé] / Olga Jovanovic, Auteur ; Niko Radulovic, Auteur ; Gordana Stojanovic, Auteur . - pp. 317-322.

The major constituents were: nicotine (24.2–58.9% of the total material detected in the ethyl acetate extracts and 46.1–49.5% of ether extracts), neophytadiene (4.0–17.9% of ethyl acetate extracts and 11.2–31.9% of ether extracts) and a mixture of n-, iso- and anteiso-alkanes (17.1–60.4% of ethyl acetate extracts and 8.4–24.7% of ether extracts). A detailed comparison of the obtained results with the composition of essential oils and supercritical CO2 extracts of the same tobacco types is presented. Reincheb. and Micromeria juliana (L.) Benth. ex Reich was analyzed by GC and GC/MS.
One hundred and twenty-four compounds were identified in M. kosaninii oil, 143 in M. parviflora oil, and 111 in M. juliana oil, accounting for more than 96.0%, 97.5% and 97.9% of the total oils, respectively. Sixty-three compounds were common for all three oils.
The major constituents of both M. kosaninii and M. juliana oils were borneol (8.2% and 9.3%, respectively), isomeric verbenols (11.7% and 8.7%) and furanoid linalool oxides (9.8% and 6.5%).
The oil of M. parviflora was marked by a high content of the main constituent spathulenol (29.9%).DEWEY : 665 ISSN : 1041-2905 En ligne : http://www.jeoronline.com/archive/detail/47 [article] Essential Oil Composition of Three Balkan Micromeria Species [texte imprimé] / Ivan Palic, Auteur ; Jasna Ursic-Jankovic, Auteur ; Gordana Stojanovic, Auteur . - pp. 40-44.
