Titre : Chemical composition of mangifera indica essential oil from Nigeria Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Ana M. Džamic, Auteur ; Petar D. Marin, Auteur ; Adebayo A. Gbolade, Auteur Année de publication : 2010 Article en page(s) : pp. 123-125 Note générale : Génie Chimique Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Mangifera indica Anacardiaceae Essential oil composition δ -3-carene α -pinene α -gurjunene β -selinene Index. décimale : 646 Résumé : The essential oil isolated from the leaves and fruit peels of Mangifera indica L. by hydrodistillation was analyzed by combined GC and GC/MS.
The leaves of M. indica were rich in sesquiterpenes (70.3%), while fruit peel oil consisted of very high amount of monoterpenes (83.2%).
The dominant compounds in mango leaf oil were δ-3-carene (20.5%), α-gurjunene (19.2%), β-selinene (13.9%) and β-caryophyllene (13.7%), while fruit peel oil yielded mainly δ-3-carene (58.2%) and α-pinene (13.0%).DEWEY : 665 ISSN : 1041-2905 En ligne : http://www.jeoronline.com/archive/detail/50#top

Titre : Constituents of the distilled essential oils of citrus reticulata and C. paradisi from Nigeria Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Anastasia Karioti, Auteur ; Helen Skaltsa, Auteur ; Adebayo A. Gbolade, Auteur Année de publication : 2008 Article en page(s) : pp. 520-522 Note générale : Génie Chimique Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Citrus reticulata paradisi Rutaceae Essential oil composition Limonene γ -terpinene Linalool Résumé : Hydrodistilled essential oils from the fruit of Citrus paradisi Macfad. (Rutaceae), and fruit peel and leaf of Citrus reticulata L. occurring in Nigeria, were studied by GC and GC/MS on two separate columns. All oils yielded predominantly comparable amounts of monoterpene hydrocarbons (81.0–98.0%). Limonene was the main constituent in mandarin (67.0%) and grapefruit (94.2%) peel oils, while γ-terpinene (53.0%) and linalool (16.1%) were the chief constituents of mandarin leaf oil. Marked differences existed in the composition of the major and minor constituents of tangerine oils. Aliphatic aldehydes and alcohols were also detected in all oils. Index. décimale : 646 Résumé : Essential oil of Aspilia africana found in Nigeria was investigated by GC and GC/MS analyses.
The oil was characterized by the dominance of sesquiterpenes (58.0%).
Sesquiterpenes, like β-caryophyllene (10.8%) and germacrene D (15.6%), and a monoterpene hydrocarbon, a-pinene (13.6%), formed the major components of A. africana oil.DEWEY : 665 ISSN : 1041-2905 En ligne : http://www.jeoronline.com/archive/detail/42#top
