In this study, a corrosion control document (CCD) knowledge base system in crude oil distillation unit process is developed. CCD consists of numerous parts namely damage mechanisms (DM), design data, critical reliability variables (CRV), guidelines, etc. To develop CCD, first off, a material selection diagrams (MSD) is drawn. The DM of each process effecting equipments that are based on American Petroleum Institute 571 should be chosen. Operating variables affecting severity of DM are selected in the beginning stage of CRV. Finally, guidelines are provided for the reliability of equipments. Titre : A heuristic - embedded scheduling system for a pharmaceutical intermediates manufacturing plant Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Jiyong Kim, Auteur ; Junghwan Kim, Auteur ; Taeyeong Lee, Auteur Année de publication : 2011 Article en page(s) : pp. 12646-12653 Note générale : Chimie industrielle Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Manufacturing Scheduling Résumé : This paper proposes a new mathematical model for a real pharmaceutical intermediates manufacturing (PIM plant. To consider the general characteristics of the scheduling problems experienced at PIM plants, the propose model employed a strategy to address a mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) formulation. Two heuristi techniques—preclassification of equipment and sequential two-stage optimization-were then proposed, to relax the complexities of scheduling problems that are due to practical constraints. The objective function the proposed model is to minimize the total operation time (makespan) that is subject to the mass balance constraints and process boundary conditions. On the basis of the proposed models and heuristics, new package software is developed for an application to real PIM plants. To show the features and capabilities of th proposed scheduling system, four real examples were examined. The results reveal that the techniques ar helpful for obtaining both higher accuracy of optimized solutions and higher computational performance. We developed the corrosion forecasting and cost model, which are combined in the procurement and production planning model. The corrosion cost model was presented to calculate cost depending on corrosion rate estimated by corrosion factors, which are H+, Cl―, H2S, and CO2. This study found the optimal results such as the optimal amount of crude to be purchased and optimal design. Several case studies are also included in this study to analyze and improve the optimization production planning model of petrochemical and refinery processes. Although the government regulation requires the operating cycle time as 4 years, this study reveals that the profit per day is increasing up to 5 years if the corrosion is considered. This result increases the net profit per day about 4.14% in a crude distillation unit (CDU) process with 120000 barrels per day capacity. As the hydrogen flow rate increased, thermal energy in the plasma jet increased the melting state of the Cu-based BMG particles.
Although it was expected that the difference in melting states would quantitatively affect the amorphous fractions in the coatings, both the amorphous fraction and the oxide content of the layers were independent of hydrogen flow rate.
However, different melting states resulting from different hydrogen gas flow rates, and the subsequent oxidation which inevitably occurred during spraying, generated different crystallization processes in the coating.
In this paper, crystallization mechanisms in plasma-sprayed BMG were studied using their microstructures.
Specific analyses of the particles deposited at high travel speed and quenched in cold water also served for further understanding of the melting state and change in composition of the particles undergo during deposition.DEWEY : 669 ISSN : 1359-6454 En ligne : http://www.sciencedirect.com/science?_ob=PublicationURL&_tockey=%23TOC%235556%23 [...] [article] Oxidation and crystallization mechanisms in plasma-sprayed Cu-based bulk metallic glass coatings [texte imprimé] / Junghwan Kim, Auteur ; Kicheol Kang, Auteur ; Sanghoon Yoon, Auteur . - pp. 952-962.
