| Résumé : | The chemical composition of the leaf oils of Croton rosmarinoides Millsp., C. litoralis Urb., C. spiralis Muell. Arg. and C. myricifolius Griseb. from Cuba were examined by combined GC and GC/MS. The oil obtained from C. rosmarinoides was characterized by the presence of 1,8-cineole (15.0%), spathulenol (13.8%) and α-terpineol (11.6%) as major constituents, while that of C. litoralis contained 1,8-cineole (20.9%) and α-terpineol (11.1%) as the major components. The oil obtained from C. spiralis was characterized by the presence of higher percentages of sesquiterpenes, particularly α-bisabolol (16.2%) and (E)-γ-atlantone (13.4%), while that of C. myricifolius contained caryophyllene oxide (8.8%), borneol (8.8%) and bornyl acetate (7.7%) as major compounds. |
