| Résumé : | The essential oil of the aerial parts of Ocimum basilicum (native to northeast India) obtained by hydrodistillation was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Forty-four components, representing about 92% of the total oil, were identified. Camphor (42.1%), followed by limonene (7.6%) and β-selinene (5.6%), was the major component of the oil. |
