| Résumé : | Two spalling mechanisms are generally quoted in literature. The first one is due to pore pressure buildup (tensile stresses). The second one is generated by restrained thermal dilation (compressive stresses). This paper presents a thermoporoelastic model in order to compare the thermal effect (restrained thermal dilation) and the hydraulic one (pore pressures). An infinite heated wall is studied analytically to express the different effective stresses exerted on the skeleton. Then, the origins of these stresses are identified. By comparing the thermal contribution and the hydraulic one, it was deduced that we cannot neglect any of them in the spalling mechanism. |
