| Résumé : | The essential oils from leaves of three different specimens of Guarea guidonia were obtained by hydrodistillation. These crude oils were subjected to FID-GC and GC/MS analysis as well as to adsorption chromatographic separations. Several sesquiterpenes were identified including hydrocarbon and oxygenated derivatives. The data indicated a significant difference in the chemical composition of the oils obtained from the leaves of different specimens. Furthermore, this analysis corroborated the hypothesis that Guarea species do not produce monoterpenes. |
