Titre : Characterisation of geometrical properties of concrete using passive infrared thermography Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Mathilde Larget, Auteur ; Denys Breysse, Auteur ; colette Sirieix, Auteur Année de publication : 2011 Article en page(s) : pp. 759-772 Note générale : Génie Civil Langues : Français (fre) Mots-clés : Infrared thermography Modelling Fourier’s equation Concrete Non-destructive testing Index. décimale : 624 Constructions du génie civil et du bâtiment. Infrastructures. Ouvrages en terres. Fondations. Tunnels. Ponts et charpentes Résumé : This paper talks about thermal response of concrete during natural warming up. An experimental study is carried out. Experimental warming up curves are compared with numerical modelling based of the Fourier equation. In the last part we study the influence of density, specific heat and thermal conductivity on diffusivity coefficient. Study proves that infrared passive thermography performed to monitor the natural warming up of concrete is sensitive to variable thickness of concrete. Infrastructures. Ouvrages en terres. Fondations. Tunnels. Ponts et charpentes Résumé : The vulnerability assessment of structures is a key element for earthquake prevention and mitigation strategies. In this study, we focus at one structure's type, namely a quasi symmetrical reinforced concrete structure with structural walls. The structure is discretized into a set of macro-elements, each macro-element being representative of a structure's floor. The estimated performance level achieved during a seismic action is obtained from capacity curves (based on static pushover analysis). The performance analysis of the structure is a probabilistic analysis since both the response spectrum (action) and the materials properties (resistance) are random. A parametric study was conducted to determine the vulnerability cumulative distribution functions and to identify the parameters that control them. This type of representation has many advantages and is a suitable tool especially for risk management of construction projects, since it offers a synthetic view on risks, each stakeholder can have his or her own view on the project and it is compatible with evolutionary and dynamic nature of project risks. However, RBS suffers several drawbacks such as lack of consensus on how to develop an RBS for a new project, lack of clarity and inconsistencies in definition of risk categories and lack of rules enabling transfer of qualitative/quantitative information of risks across the tree. This article will focus on the last case, proposing an advanced method for measurement and propagation of risks in RBS. Infrastructures. Ouvrages en terres. Fondations. Tunnels. Ponts et charpentes Résumé : The mechanical response and durability of timber structures is highly influenced by the atmospheric conditions. Wood mechanical properties depend on moisture content, on temperature and on their variations. To study the lifetime of timber components in their environment, climatic variations are simulated and a lifetime model is proposed. The model predicts the incubation time and the time of crack propagation until the failure. As temperature has a smaller influence on the time to failure than relative humidity, its effects are not directly taken into account in the model. Predictions of the proposed model for various air humidity simulations are compared to creep test results obtained on notched beams under various climatic conditions. Infrastructures. Ouvrages en terres. Fondations. Tunnels. Ponts et charpentes Résumé : Assessing concrete condition is of major interest either for looking at weak or more damaged areas, or for reliability computations. NDT measurements provide a valuable way of offering a quick overview on the material condition. One of their main weaknesses is that their results cannot be directly linked with material properties. This paper presents how a collaborative research programme has been developed such as: (a) to select the best appropriate measurement techniques, (b) identify calibration laws enabling the quantitative material condition assessment, (c) identify possible valuable combinations of techniques. This strategy is applied to laboratory specimen data as well as to on site data. A focus is also placed on the reliability of the material condition assessment.
