| Résumé : |
The analysis and development of different PWM strategies suitable for inverter based systems are presented in this thesis.
The conventional modulation is reviewed showing the superiority of the regular asymmetric sampling over the regular symmetric and natural sampling. New results concerning the optimum PWM strategies such as the harmonic current minimisation, harmonic torque minimisation and harmonic elimination techniques are presented. Moreover, a technique to develop PWM strategies where different performance criteria are combined is also presented. The development of a simple modulation process which approximates the characteristics of the harmonic current minimisation is presented. The results derived from the analyses of the sinusoidal modulation and the optimum PWM techniques will be used to develop new PWM strategies. The characteristics of these PWM techniques are analysed and compared with those of other known PWM strategies. A method to switch from the PWM mode to the quasi square ware mode with reduced harmonic distortion and negligible transient phenomena is presented. The different theoretical results obtained are confirmed using a microprocessor controlled transistorised inverter. |
