Proper illumination of an object is of great importance to scene analysis using the techniques of image processing.
This thesis describes the design and development of a microprocessor controlled illumination system to be used with an image processing system. The system consists of four channels. Each channel controls the illumination provided by one lamp. It includes four feedback channels also which provide the microprocessor with information on the actual illumination at four points around an object. Software to control the illumination was developed using the BCPL Language. |
