The essential oil and hydrolat of the root were characterized by a high amount of eugenol (83.9%, 65.4%) and myrtenol (2.3%, 9.9%) respectively, whereas the essential oil of the aerial part of the plant had palmitic acid (10.6%) and linoleic acid (9.6%) as characteristic constituents. Eugenol (45.7%) and linalool (7.3%) were identified as major components in the hydrolat of the aerial part of G. iranicum.
