Titre : Chemical composition of the essential oil hydrodistilled from serbian taxus baccata L. Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : N. Radulović, Auteur ; P. Blagojević, Auteur ; R. Palić, Auteur Année de publication : 2011 Article en page(s) : pp. 458-461 Note générale : Génie Chimique Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Taxus baccata Taxaceae Essential oil composition Hexahydrofarnesyl acetone Myrtenol Index. décimale : 646 Résumé : Hydrodistillation of fresh needles and branches of Taxus baccata L. (Gymnospermae, Taxaceae) yielded 0.02% (w/w) of the essential oil. GC and GC/MS analyses enabled the identification of 62 constituents that accounted for 92.2% of the total oil. The oil was found to mainly consist of components belonging to one of the following classes: terpenoids (28.2%), “green leaf” volatiles (12.0%), carotenoid derived compounds (18.4%) and n-alkanes (18.4%). The major contributors were hexahydrofarnesyl acetone (18.3%), myrtenol (18.3%), (Z)-3-hexenol (6.0%), 3-methyl-2-butenoic acid (5.9%) and tricosane (5.5%). The terpenoid fraction was completely made up of monoterpenoids and diterpenoids (mostly oxygenated derivatives), but, contrary to the oils isolated from other Taxus taxa, no sesqui-terpenoids were identifed. One-hundred-seven components were identified, accounting for 97.6% of the total oil. The major components were caryophyllene oxide (44.8%), humulene epoxide II (14.1%), β-caryophyllene (12.6%) and α-humulene (7.8%). Terpenoids (96.9%) constituted the main fraction of the oil, with oxygenated sesquiterpenes (70.5%) and sesquiterpene hydrocarbons (23.2%) as the most abundant compound classes. One-hundred-sixteen constituents identified accounted for 98.9% of the total oil. The major components of the oil were: α-pinene (56.3%), (E)-β-ocimene (10.2%), undecane (6.3%), myrcene (4.3%) and β-pinene (4.2%). The volatile profile of H. annulatum differs significantly from that of the rest of the taxa belonging to the section Adenosepalum, as well as from previously investigated Hypericum species growing in the same region (southeastern Serbia). Eighty-five constituents identified accounted for 96.9% of the total oil. The major components of the oil were: dill apiole (29.0%), germacrene D (17.0%), β-selinene (11.8%), germacrene B (7.7%) and α-selinene (4.7%). Volatile sesquiterpenes constituted the major fraction of the oil (56.9%). The high content of dill apiole and its rather restricted natural occurrence within the genus Carum seems to differentiate C. graecum and C. nigrum from other Carum taxa. Five major contributors were the following: heptacosane (15.0%), hentriacontane (15.0%), ethyl oleate (12.4%), nonacosane (11.0%) and pentacosane (8.3%). n-Alkanes (50.9%), fatty acid ethyl esters (32.2%) and higher aldehydes (7.7%) alone constituted 90% of the extract. Ethyl (E,Z)-2,4-decadienoate, ethyl hexacosanoate, ethyl tetracosanoate, ethyl docosanoate, octane and undecane are reported for the first time as grape constituents.
