Titre : Chemical composition of aiouea costaricensis (Lauraceae) essential oils from costa rica and their cytotoxic activity on cell lines Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : C. Chaverri, Auteur ; J. F. Cicció, Auteur ; C. Díaz, Auteur Année de publication : 2011 Article en page(s) : pp. 524-529 Note générale : Génie Chimique Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Aiouea costaricensis Lauraceae Essential oil composition a-pinene b-pinene b-caryophyllene Cytotoxicity Tumor cells Index. décimale : 646 Résumé : The composition of the essential oils of Aiouea costaricensis growing wild in Costa Rica was determined by capillary GC-FID and GC/MS. Seventy-five and fifty-two compounds were identified in the leaf and branch oils, respectively, corresponding to about 95.9% and 90.9% of the total amount of the oils. The leaf oil consists mainly of monoterpene hydrocarbons (30.5%), sesquiterpene hydrocarbons (36.3%) and oxygenated sesquiterpenes (24.5%). The major components of the leaf oil were α-pinene (14.5%), β-pinene (14.0%) and β-caryophyllene (12.0%). The branch oil consists mainly of monoterpene hydrocarbons (46.2%), sesquiterpene hydrocarbons (22.2%) and oxygenated sesquiterpenes (16.4%). The major components of the branch oil were also α-pinene (23.1%), β-pinene (20.2%).
