Titre : Intermediary products in the catalytic wet air oxidation of crystal violet with Ni / MgAlO as catalyst Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Gabriel Ovejero, Auteur ; Araceli Rodríguez, Auteur ; Ana Vallet, Auteur Année de publication : 2012 Article en page(s) : pp. 11367-11372 Note générale : Industrial chemistry Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Catalyst Oxidation Wet air Catalytic reaction Résumé : In this study, the performance of Ni supported on MgAlO catalyst to promote Oxidation of crystal violet was investigated. Oxidation experiments were carried out at T = 140―200 °C and total pressures up to 50 bar. The catalyst was prepared by incipient wetness impregnation to obtain catalyst with metal loading of 7 wt %. A detailed reaction network for the wet air oxidation and catalytic wet air oxidation of crystal ciolet on Ni/MgAlO catalyst is proposed in this study. The reaction network proposed takes into account all the detected intermediate products during the dye oxidation. This work represents the first determination of the reaction network of this compound in wet air and catalytic wet air oxidation. The effect of important operation parameters on breakthrough curves as column length (Z = 1.0–3.0 cm), initial concentration of atenolol or isoproturon (C0 = 50.0–500.0 μg·L–1), and volumetric flow rate (Q = 1.5 mL·min–1) was studied. Breakthrough time of the bed was found to increase with an increase in the value of the column length, and with a decrease in the value of initial concentration or flow rate. Mathematical models, as Bohart–Adams, Thomas, Yoon–Nelson, and Clark were applied to the experimental data for the prediction of the breakthrough curves, and to determine the characteristic parameters of the bed. Titre : Removal of dyes from wastewaters by adsorption on sepiolite and pansil Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Araceli Rodríguez, Auteur ; Gabriel Ovejero, Auteur ; María Mestanza, Auteur Année de publication : 2010 Article en page(s) : pp. 3207–3216 Note générale : Industrial Chemistry Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Dyes Wastewaters Adsorption Sepiolite Pansil Résumé : In this work, experiments to examine the liquid-phase adsorption features of sepiolite and pansil have been conducted with synthetic dye wastewaters prepared from commercial grade dye, methylene blue (MB). The adsorption experimental results were analyzed in terms of the equilibrium adsorption capacity and equilibrium time. The Langmuir, Freundlich, and Sips adsorption models are applied to describe the isotherm equilibrium and to determine some parameters. The Sips model agrees well with the experimental data, and the pseudo-second-order kinetic model reproduces properly the kinetic experimental data of the system MB−sepiolite. The highest MB adsorption was obtained at acid pH for sepiolite and at basic pH for pansil. Besides, several kinetics models were employed to study the adsorption mechanism of MB on sepiolite.
