Titre : Hydrodynamic lubrication of thrust bearings with rectangular fixed-incline-pads Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Shuangbiao Liu, Auteur ; Libin Mou, Auteur Année de publication : 2012 Article en page(s) : 05 p. Note générale : tribology Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : thrust bearings hydrodynamic lubrication bearing design and technology Index. décimale : 621.5 Energie pneumatique. Machinerie et outils. Réfrigération Résumé : This paper summarized the critical mathematical achievement of lubrication theory of fixed-incline-pad bearings in the first half of the twentieth century. Omitted steps in published papers are provided and the coresponding equations are discussed in details. A general solution is derived for this type of bearing, which contains the general solutions used in Michell and Muskat et al. It is shown that Hay's solution is actually equivalent to Muskat at al.'s solution, which can be used by design engineers to estimate the bearing performance.
