Titre : Composition and antimicrobial activity of the essential oil of tanacetum cadmeum (Boiss.) heywood subsp. orientale grierson Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Gülmira Özek, Auteur ; Temel Ozek, Auteur ; Gökalp Işcan, Auteur Année de publication : 2007 Article en page(s) : pp. 392-395 Note générale : Génie Chimique Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Tanacetum cadmeum subsp. orientale Asteraceae Essential oil composition Antimicrobial activity 1,8-cineole p-cymene Terpinen-4-ol Résumé : Water distilled essential oil of aerial parts of Tanacetum cadmeum (Boiss.) Heywood subsp. orientale Grierson (Asteraceae) was analyzed by GC and GC/MS methods. Ninety three compounds have been characterized representing 97.8% of the oil. 1,8-Cineole (18.9%), p-cymene (15.7%), terpinen-4-ol (14.8%), borneol (9.8%) and γ-terpinene (3.5%) were found to be the major constituents of the oil. Antimicrobial activity of the oil was tested via micro-dilution broth method. Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Enterobacter aerogenes, Salmonella typhimurium, Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Candida albicans were used as the test microorganisms. Umbelliferae Oil isolation techniques Essential oil composition α -pinene Résumé : The essential oils of the fruits of Angelica sylvestris L. var. sylvestris (Umbelliferae) obtained using hydrodistillation (HD), microdistillation (MD) and micro-steam distillation—solid-phase microextraction (MSD-SPME) techniques were analyzed by GC and GC/MS. The composition of the oils depended on the isolation method employed. α-Pinene (25.6%, 36.2% and 9.2%, respectively), β-phellandrene (9.1%, 9.9% and 3.2%), bornyl acetate (7.3%, 4.3% and 6.9%), limonene (5.6%, 4.3% and 2.1%), myrcene (4.4%, 4.0% and 1.3%), camphene (3.9%, 4.7% and 1.2%), α-chamigrene (3.4%, 4.4% and 9.1%) and β-sesquiphellandrene (2.5%, 3.8% and 8.7%) were found as the main constituents in the oils. p-Cresol (6.5%), epi-α-bisabolol (5.6%), (Z)-β-farnesene (5.5%), naphthalene (4.4%), daucene (3.1%), amorpha-4,11-diene (3.1%) and γ-muurolene (2.5%) were also among the main constituents of the oil isolated by MSD-SPME.
