Schum. (Zingiberaceae) collected in Vietnam was analyzed by GC and GC/MS. Twenty-five compounds, representing 86.4% of the oil, were identified. Twenty-six components of the oil including sesquiterpene hydrocarbons (33.3% of the oil) and oxygenated sesquiterpenoids (47.7%) were identified. β-caryophyllene (11.4%) and caryophyllene oxide (31.5%) were identified as the major components of the oil.
