Eleven components were identifed, constituting approximately 97.7% of the oil. The main constituents of the essential oil were 4aβ,7α,7aα-nepetalactone (92.0%), 1,8-cineole (2.6%), β-pinene (0.9%), pulegone (0.4%) and bicyclogermacrene (0.3%). Eleven components were identifed, constituting approximately 97.7% of the oil. The main constituents of the essential oil were 4aβ,7α,7aα-nepetalactone (92.0%), 1,8-cineole (2.6%), β-pinene (0.9%), pulegone (0.4%) and bicyclogermacrene (0.3%). The oil was found to contain 19 components. Altogether, 18 compounds were identifed from the aerial parts of this plant, collected in its fowering stage. The oil of C. strussii consisted mainly of β-caryophyllene (16.9%), germacrene D (13.0%), borneol (8.9%), linalool (7.2%), α-terpineol (6.7%), caryophyllene oxide (6.2%) and bicyclogermacrene (5.2%).
