Titre : Nitrogen compounds from haitian vetiver oil Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Robin A. Clery, Auteur ; Christopher J. Hammond, Auteur ; Anthony C. Wright, Auteur Année de publication : 2006 Article en page(s) : pp. 591-592 Note générale : Génie Chimique Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Vetiveria zizanioides Vetiver Essential oil composition Pyrazines Pyridines Résumé : Nitrogen containing compounds of vetiver oil, Vetiveria zizanioides (L.) Nash, have been investigated and 33 components identified by capillary GC and GC/MS. These include substituted pyridines, pyrazines and indolines; only four of which have previously been reported as occurring in vetiver oil. Two compounds, tentatively identified, are believed to be previously unreported as natural, namely, isomers of trimethylindoline and isocyanato-methylbenzene. These species were found to be present at levels ranging from 150 ppb to 30 ppm. Odor assessment revealed that 2-ethyl-3,5-dimethylpyrazine (1.5 ppm) and 3-ethyl-2,5-dimethylpyrazine (490 ppb) contributed most significantly to the overall odor.
