Titre : Magnetocaloric and barocaloric effects: Theoretical description and trends Titre original : Effets magnétocaloriques et barocaloriques: Description théorique et tendances Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : N. A. de Oliveira, Auteur ; P. J. von Ranke, Auteur ; A. Troper, Auteur Année de publication : 2014 Article en page(s) : pp. 237–248 Note générale : Refrigeration Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Magnetocaloric effect barocaloric effect, metal alloy thermodynamic modeling Résumé : In this review paper we present a theoretical description of the magnetocaloric and barocaloric effects in metallic compounds. The theoretical formulation is separated in two categories namely, [1] systems whose magnetism is due to localized magnetic moments [2] systems whose magnetism is due to itinerant electrons. In both cases we perform systematic analysis of the magnetocaloric and barocaloric quantities in terms of the model parameters. Besides that, an application has been made to the real compounds 5Tb2Si2GeTb5Si2Ge2 and Mn(As0.7Sb0.3)Mn(As0.7Sb0.3). En ligne : http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0140700713001229
