The mass and charge distributions for each fragment were determined with discrete resolution.
The main detector system for the energy measurement was a large ionization chamber with 80 cm active thickness.
The timing system consisted of two channel-plate fast timing devices (CPFTD) which were used as start and stop detectors.
A timing resolution of 250 psec, a mass resolution of 0.8 mass units and a charge resolution of 0.4 charge units were obtained with this system.
Data were analyzed as a function of energy loss by fitting a two dimensional Gaussian function to the neutron-proton distributions.
Results are given for the measured data as well as estimates of the primary fragment distributions after correction for neutron evaporation.
A comparison with low energy data (8.3 MeV/nucleon) is made.Mass and charge distributions in iron-induced nuclear reactions at 840 MEV [texte imprimé] / Merouane Charif, Auteur ; C. Alice, Directeur de thèse . - University of Maryland, 1986 . - 158 f. : ill. ; 27 cm.
