Radioactive materialIndex. décimale : D002581 Résumé : In this project, i will review the geology and hydrology of the region and by using a finite difference equation try to model and predict the transport of radioactive material through Savannah River Plant hydrosphere in case of an accidental spill.
Environmental, geological and hydrological studies were made by eminent researchers.
As early as 1954, George E. Siple drew a piezometric map of the region still considered good and adequate.
Later on, I. W. Marine used a computer model in two dimensions and recently R. w. Root Jr who used a computer model in three dimensions calculated the distribution of hydralulic head in time and space.
My purpose in this paper is certainly not to find a solution for this long debated problem between environmentalists and pro-nuclear power plant people, but to get familiar with the analysis involved in such a study as well as to define crude boundaries to the nature of the problem in case of an accidental spill.Geology, groundwater and contaminants transport characteristics of savannah river basin : a special problem [texte imprimé] / Omar Mimouni, Auteur ; Aral, Mustafa M., Directeur de thèse . - [S.l.] : Georgia Institute of Technology, 1981 . - 88 f. : ill. ; 27 cm.
