Therefore, extracting each speech signal from this convoluted mixture is crucial and has several applications. The objective of this work is to perform blind source separation in an adaptive manner. First, we studied the Independent Vector Analysis (IVA) algorithm to fully understand its principle. Then, we modified the algorithm to obtain its adaptive version and added adaptive data whitening to it. Finally, we compared the effects of this whitening on the performance of our algorithm and implemented this method using real signals recorded through an array of microphones Blind speech separation : adaptive algorithm and implementation using UMA-16 v2 mic array testbed [document électronique] / Merah, Idriss, Auteur ; Ghecham, Ahmed-Zakaria, Auteur ; Adel Belouchrani, Directeur de thèse ; Soufiane Tebache, Directeur de thèse . - [S.l.] : [s.n.], 2023 . - 1 fichier PDF (15 Mo) : ill.

Hence, extracting target speech from noisy convolutive mixtures is highly desirable for many applictions. This work aims to address the convolutive blind source separation of speech signals. First, we studied and compared three frequency-domain blind speech separation algorithms: IVA, Fast IVA, and ILRMA. Then, we worked on improving the performances of these algorithms using two different post-processings: speech denoising and SIMO equalization. The results demonstrate a significant improvement in performance. Finally, the selected separation scheme was implemented on an embedded system and tested on real-world signals Blind speech separation : algorithm improvement and implementation using raspberry pi with uma-8-sp mic array testbed [document électronique] / Lynda Berrah, Auteur ; Nacira Mendjel, Auteur ; Adel Belouchrani, Directeur de thèse ; Soufiane Tebache, Directeur de thèse . - [S.l.] : [s.n.], 2022 . - 1 fichier PDF (4.23 Mo) : ill.

The main goal is then to contribute in the performance improvement of those communications systems. Hence, the thesis suggests and investigates new designs to overcome some wireless chal- lenges. Antenna pattern reconfiguration is the first subject treated. It concerns CPW-Fed monopole antennas where a simple approach is developed to achieve this purpose. Phase shifters are also key components in many advanced applications, hence they are deeply studied in this work and three novel designs have been proposed. Moreover, MIMO technique is very promising in recent technologies, however with the presence of antenna coupling the overall performances are drastically degraded. This challenge has also been tackled, and an efficient decoupling mechanism of closely spaced antennas is proposed. To do so, we present two di˙erent approaches, The first is multiple signal classification (MUSIC) and the second is a conventionnel estimation of signal angle direction (Bartlett) , both approaches are implemented on a National Instruments (NI) USRP platforms, and the algorithms are setup in LabView NI software.
