Rotor vibrationIndex. décimale : Ms00686 Résumé : In recent years, increased attention has been focused on the rotor dynamic response to a sudden large rotor unbalance.
In this case most research has been geared to the development of back-up dampers (which augment the normally active squeez-film dampers) which come into acton only under large unbalance situations.
The research reported here uses an alternate concept which has a high potential of providing optimum control of the large-unbalance problem as well as the normal running unbalance using only a single damper type.
That is, the large-unbalance damper function and normal-condition damper function are combined into one controllable damper.
This concept is the hydrostatic squeeze-film damper, in which the supply pressures are actively controlled to minimize residual vibration.
The work presented here is the development and use of the necessary analytical tools to explore the benefits of the hydrostatic squeeze-film damper as a potential means of controlling rotor vibration on future rotating machinery designs.Minimization of rotor vibrations using controlled hydrostatic squeeze-film dampers [texte imprimé] / Zahloul, Hamou, Auteur ; Maurice L.
