Arg. and C. myricifolius Griseb. from Cuba were examined by combined GC and GC/MS. The oil obtained from C. rosmarinoides was characterized by the presence of 1,8-cineole (15.0%), spathulenol (13.8%) and α-terpineol (11.6%) as major constituents, while that of C. litoralis contained 1,8-cineole (20.9%) and α-terpineol (11.1%) as the major components. The oil obtained from C. spiralis was characterized by the presence of higher percentages of sesquiterpenes, particularly α-bisabolol (16.2%) and (E)-γ-atlantone (13.4%), while that of C. myricifolius contained caryophyllene oxide (8.8%), borneol (8.8%) and bornyl acetate (7.7%) as major compounds.
