A compensator is introduced in the sliding surface to attenuate the certain frequency component of the sliding mode dynamics. The output is measured at a faster rate than the control input to estimate the states of the system. The proposed output feedback frequency-shaped sliding mode controller is designed for the vibration suppression of intelligent structure.
