Présentation : ill. Format : 30 cm. Note générale : Mémoire de Magister : Electronique : Boumerdès, Institut National d'Electricité et d'Electronique INELEC : 1996
Bibliogr. f. 121 -123 . Annexe f. 124 - 128Langues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Stability analysis ; Static kramer drive Index. décimale : M003796 Résumé : The steady state analysis of the conventional static Kramer drive using three different types of models, namely the DC, AC and DQ models is developed in the first part of the thesis. The aim is to arrive at a correct prediction of the basic steady state characteristics of the drive through correlation of results of the different models used. This is motivated by the fact that most of the published work done on stability analysis of this drive relied on a wrong DQ steady state model. A correct DQ steady state model is established. The stability analysis of the static Kramer drive is presented in the second part of the thesis. A set of nonlinear differential equations describing the dynamic and steady state behaviour of the system are developed and linearized about an operating point using small signal perturbation technique. The eigenvalues loci of the system are plotted for different operating points with the effects of system parameter changes on the drive stability investigated for three such drives of different power levels. In support of analytical predictions, transient responses to a load torque step change have been obtained by solving the set of non linear equations representing the actual system. Conclusions reached in this present investigation study show important differences with previous research work. It has been found that both the operating point and the power level of the drive are important factors influencing the drive stability. Bibliogr. f. I - IV . Annexe [7] fLangues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Nonparametric approach ; Digital image restoration ; Kernel regression ; Kernel smoothing of noisy images ; Kernel estimation density approach Index. décimale : M004895 Résumé : Image analysis is concerned with restoration and interpretation of images that have been contaminated by noise and possibly some (nonlinear transformation). The purpose of our research work is to implement the statistical nonparametric methods to the restoration of noisy images which are characterized by the range of possible values for the intensity function evaluated at different regular points of a lattice plane D. The nonparametric approach is more easier to be mastered by engineers than the parametric one, and it does not require a priori strong assumptions concerning the unknown model of the image. The first contribution consists of regarding the restoration of a given degraded image as the estimation of the intensity function from the observed degraded colors. This task was accomplished by the use of the kernel method of regression. It was noticed that the implemented method does not perform satisfactorily in the regions where the intensity function fluctuates rapidly (sharp changes in the coloring). This drawback can be reduced to a certain extent by using the variable kernel method. In order to overcome the drawback of the curve fitting approach, a stochastic nonparametric approach was developed. In this approach, the value of the intensity function at each pixel was regarded as an observation generated from a random variable which is locally dependent on the neighboring random variables. Therefore, the restoration of images reduces to the estimation of an unknown stochastic process using one of the suggested nonparametric methods. The first method considers the observed image as a realization of a spatial process, whereas the second one is based on the estimation of the density function of the true unknown color of a pixel using the neighboring principle. The two developed methods have been found to be very efficient. Furthermore, their performances were found to be better than that of the parametric weiner approach. The MSSM algorithm is based on a multichannel vision model, to establish the correspondence between two images with the allowance that one of them can be deformed elastically. The MSSM algorithm uses a process consisting of two stages: the filtering and the matching stages. This process is iterated following a coarse-to-fine regime of the vision channels at which the matching process is performed. Therefore, the algorithm exhibits a certain degree of computational complexity over huge amounts of data. This suggests the use of parallel processing to reduce the execution time of the algorithm.
For this reason we have considered the parallelization of the algorithm over a PC transputer network with the OCCAM 2 language under the Transputer Development System TDS3. A task partition approach is used to parallelize the algorithm. First, the algorithm is partitioned into a set of elementary tasks.
Then, an intertask data flow is established. Afterwards, the network topology is fixed and subsequently the tasks are placed onto the transputer network processors. Finally, the tasks are scheduled onto processors in order to minimize the processors idle time caused by the intertask data flow, and obtaining an optimal starting time for each task ignition. The experiments were carried out to measure the performance of the parallel implementation with respect to the sequential one. The effect of the increase in the computational time when additional vision channels are used, with respect to the increase in the number of processors has been also investigated. The performance tests indicate a substantial improvement in speed compared with a single processor execution. The performance analysis has permitted us to identify the optimal number of processors suitable for such an application.TASK. Annexe [1] fLangues : Anglais (eng) Mots-clés : Analysis of microwave ; Millimeter-wave structures ; Realistic configuration ; Structures based on isotropic ; Anisotropic substrates ; Analysis of finline structures Index. décimale : M005095 Résumé : In this research work, the rigorous hybrid-mode full-wave analysis is used for an accurate characterization of planar and quasi-planar microwave and millimeter-wave structures, required by the spectacular growth of microwave technology. The method of lines is used as a mathematical tool for solving the associated eigenvalue problems, for modelling the dispersive properties of the aforementioned structures. The frequency dependent characterization of general planar multilayer multiconductor waveguiding structures based on isotropic and/or anisotropic substrates, has been established by using directly field components or suitable Hertzian potential functions formulations. This technique has also been applied for the analysis of structures with finite metallization thickness, in order to improve the modelling of planar microwave circuit structures that are of reduced size and operating at higher frequencies. Furthermore, the E-plane planar circuits, particularly finline structures, have been investigated with practical considerations.
In addition to the substrate anisotropy and finite metal thickness parameters, the sidewall grooves, used in an actual realization to support mechanically the substrate, has been accounted for an efficient analysis of this kind of structures. Particular interest is directed to the analysis of isolated unilateral finline configurations which are suitable for mounting semiconductor devices, where one or both fins are isolated by a gasket which allows a dc voltage to be developed across the fins. The numerical results obtained by the developed algorithm are found to agree excellently with the published data for a wide range of planar microwave and millimeter-wave structures. The effect of the technological parameters such as substrate anisotropy, strip thickness, side-wall groove depth and insulating gasket height have been also discussed.Hybrid-mode analysis of microwave and millimeter-wave structures of realistic configuration [texte imprimé] / Ouadi, Abderrahmane, Auteur ; Bourdoucen, H., Directeur de thèse . - [S.l.] : Institut National d'Electricité et d'Electronique INELEC, 1995 . - 139 f. : ill. ; 30 cm.

This thesis is a part of an ongoing effort to generalize these tools to multivariable systems via the factorization of matrix polynomials.
The main contributions of this thesis can be summarized as follows:
1/ The development of the Q.D. algorithm, which is a global method capable of producing a complete factorization of a matrix polynomial;
2/ Establishment of an existence theorem for the Q.D. algorithm;
3/ Production of convergence theorems for the Q.D. algorithm;
4/ Study of the initialization of the algorithm;
5/ Applicability of Broyden's method to matrix polynomial problems.
As a by-product, some important results have been produced:
6/ Location of the latent roots of a matrix polynomial in the complex plane;
7/ Investigation of the existence of the solvents of a monic matrix polynomial;
8/ Derivation of an incomplite partial fraction expansion of a matrix rational fraction.Algorithms for the factorization of matrix polynomials [texte imprimé] / Abdelhakim Dahimene, Auteur ; K.
